With the first batch of Lupine day packs now available on the site, I thought I'd share some updates we've made to make production a little easier. After all, we aren't a single wizard sitting at a machine all day.
We’ve made just a few changes to the packs to help make production and sales a little easier. In the past, you could select whether or not you wanted an interior zipped pocket, laptop sleeve, foam pad, or all three for the “deluxe” version. Well, this time around, all of the packs are deluxe! Now, no matter which pack you buy, you're getting all of the available features.
We also matched the pack cloth back and shoulder straps, webbing, buckles (aside from the lovely vintage metal strap adjusters, of course), and stitching in coyote. We think it makes for a nice, cohesive look. What do you think?
In the past, the leather barbells and shoulder strap patches came in a variety of colors. This time around, we are making them from from high-grade hand-waxed natural leather that will age beautifully over time. That way, your pack builds a little personal patina the more you use it.
One other new item of note: all seams are bound on the interior with nylon tape for a cleaner, more durable finish. Each pack used to be hot cut one at a time which meant that fabric edges didn't fray. Now, it's much more efficient to stack cut multiples at a time. So, binding seams conceals the fabric edges to prevent fraying. View the image of the laptop sleeve above to see some bound seams.
